ADPL To Launch NSW Conference In 2017

Dodgeball Federation Australia is excited to announce the expansion of the Australian Dodgeball Premier League, with the inclusion of a New South Wales conference in 2017.

On the back of the Australian Dodgeroos’ success at the 2015 Asian Championships and 2016 World Cup, the ADPL initially launched its Victorian Conference last year.

Following an outstanding first season, we witnessed a wave of new talent and player depth come through the system. Now, the time is right for NSW to have its own conference, and aid the development and growth of the game across the country.

The ADPL is sanctioned by the World Dodgeball Association and Asian Dodgeball Federation. The competition is an elite pathway for our high performance programs, and is also utilised to scout talent for the Australian Dodgeroos.

The format of the NSW Conference will have many similarities to the Victorian division.

NSW Conference Structure:

– Inaugural ADPL NSW season to run from June – November, 2017.

– NSW will have a Mixed Division – maximum of 4 male players on court, at any given time.

– Each Club will play two matches each round, against different opposition.

– Rounds will be staged on Saturdays, every 3 – 4 weeks, on average.

– All matches will be filmed, and viewable via the ADPL website / YouTube Channel.

– Two referees, in addition to two line-judges will be appointed for each ADPL fixture.

– Clubs will all play at the single venue (Sydney venue TBA)

– The official ball will be 7-inch cloth (used at the 2016 World Cup).

– ADPL follows the official WDA international regulations.

– Dodgeball NSW Cup – Is a knockout-style competition, and will be introduced during the 2017 season. The top-two Clubs (Grand Finalists), will gain qualification into the DFA Cup, the national version of the Cup competition.

Future Australian Dodgeroos Selection:

– The ADPL NSW Conference will be utilised to track player performances during the season.

– Australian coaches will be able track performances via the video replays of all the matches, in addition to correspondence with NSW representatives.
