Dodgeroos

The Chemist Warehouse Australian Dodgeroos were scheduled to compete at the 2020 World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it wasn’t appropriate for the event to proceed in July. The 2020 World Cup has been delayed indefinitely, with further info to be announced in due course.

Given the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, we will have further updates in the early-part of 2021 regarding trials for the Dodgeroos squads. Trials are scheduled to take place across the country, in four major cities – Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

While we haven’t received confirmation from the World Dodgeball Association thus far, the plan is for the World Cup to be scheduled at the back-end of 2021. Further info will follow in due course.

ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN DODGEROOS:

The Chemist Warehouse Australian Dodgeroos are Australia’s national representatives on the international stage. The National Team comprises of four teams – Men’s, Women’s, Mixed and Under 21’s.

Making its debut in 2015, the Dodgeroos have illustrated its prowess at international level. Thus far, Australia has four titles to its name, including the 2015 Asian Championships – won by our men’s, women’s and mixed teams. The biggest achievement, the 2016 World Cup, where our women’s team prevailed in remarkable fashion, beating the world’s heavyweights to be crowned world champions.

In 2017, the Dodgeroos competed at the Asia Pacific Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Axiata Arena, where a record 10 nations competed across the region. Each of Australia’s Men’s, Mixed and Women’s teams won Silver, successfully qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in New York City, at Madison Square Garden.

In 2018, the Dodgeroos had more success on the world stage in New York City. The Women’s team retained their number one world ranking, by earning Bronze at the World Cup. While the Mixed and Men’s teams placed fourth and ninth respectively.
