Registration: DFA July Championships

The DFA July Championships will be held on Saturday, July 4 at Darebin Community Sports Stadium (857 Plenty Road, Reservoir) – the same venue hosting the 2015 Asian Dodgeball Championships. DFA July Championships

Dodgeball Federation Australia is hosting its third lead-up event, in preparation for the 2015 Asian Dodgeball Championships in Melbourne, Australia, staged from September 26 – 27.

While participation is open to everyone, the tournament will also be used as player trials for the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Australian teams, the Dodgeroos.

DFA JULY CHAMPIONSHIPS | HOW TO PLAY AND TRIAL?

DFA July Championships: Saturday, July 4 at Darebin Community Sports Stadium – 857 Plenty Road, Reservoir.

Players are encouraged to submit a team for the tournament. Individual players can also play, and will be placed into a team.

Anyone and everyone are able to participate, regardless of playing experience or skill level.

COST / REGISTRATION DEADLINES:

EARLY-BIRD OFFER: $25 per player when registered by Sunday, June 21.

REGISTRATIONS FOLLOWING JULY 21: $30 per player, with registrations closing Sunday, June 28.

Team registrations for the DFA July Championships will not be accepted following June 28.

Funds earned during these trial tournaments will help contribute towards the running and many on-costs of staging and hosting the 2015 Asian Dodgeball Championships.

TOURNAMENT FEATURES:

  • Play a minimum of 4 matches during the Group Stages.
  • Tournament seeding for the top two ranked teams from the previous June Championships. Teams will be placed in Pot A (seeded teams) and Pot B.
  • Live Ladders & Results on visual display during the tournament.
  • MVP Awards – voting system for both male and female players.
  • Media Content – photography and video footage from tournament matches.
  • Group Stage followed by Knockout Rounds.

 SELECTION CRITERIA:

To be eligible for Dodgeroos selection, players must hold an Australian permanent residency. The DFA expects a strong commitment from players. While a variety of skill-sets and attributes will play an important role in the selection process, on-court conduct and sportsmanship are integral for Dodgeroo aspirants.
